This is a recipe I worked out after eating some cookies from Trader Joe's and a local deli. I sorta combine the two and ended up with this, my families favorite chocolate cookie recipe. type: drop makes: 3 dozen little cookies 1-3/4 cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda pinch of salt 1/2 cup butter, room temperature 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 tablespoons molasses 1 teaspoon flavorless vegetable oil 2 egg whites 1 teaspoon vanilla 1-1/4 cups mini-semisweet chocolate chips Preheat oven to 350F. Lightly grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. Cream butter. Add the sugar and cream until smooth. Add the molasses, vegetables oil, egg whites, and vanilla. Mix in dry ingredients. Fold in chocolate. Drop from a teaspoons onto cookie sheets about 1-1/2" apart. Bake 7-10 minutes or until golden brown. Transfer to wire racks to cool. Reviews Darlene from Canada Excellent tasting cookie; the molasses make it a great option to an old favourite. |
