Combine flour, baking soda, pepper, ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt; set aside. Lightly grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper. Cream butter, egg, vanilla, and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually add the dry ingredients. Roll dough into cherry size balls and place on cookie sheets about 2" apart.
