Black Forest Brownies

1-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 eggs, well beaten
2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla 
1 cup maraschino cherries, chopped
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

icing
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla 
2 cups powdered' sugar
6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350F.
Grease a 9x13 inch pan.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl; set aside.
Melt butter.
Stir in cocoa until smooth.
Blend in eggs, sugar and extracts.
Stir in flour mixture, cherries and nuts.
Pour into pan.
Bake 35 minutes.
Make icing: blend butter, vanilla, sugar, cocoa and milk in a bowl until smooth. 
Spread on hot brownies.
Sprinkle with nuts.
Cool.

very moist and fudgy, with very nice taste. I modified it slightly without cherries and was also very nice. I also used le chocolat cocoa from cadburys and was perfect!
