Irish Lace Cookies

makes: 24

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup light brown sugar
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour 
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla 
1 cups old-fashioned rolled oats (not quick cooking)

Preheat oven to 350F
Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. 
Stir in the flour, milk, and vanilla. 
Stir in oats. 
Drop the batter by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, about 3 inches apart. 
Bake 10-12 minutes until golden. 
Let them cool slightly on sheets then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
