Mostaccioli

That's Italian for mustaches.

type: rolled
makes: 2 -1/2 dozen

1 cup hazelnuts
1 cup walnuts
1/3 cup honey
1 egg white
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
pinch of salt
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
powdered sugar
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon egg white, lightly beaten
1 to 2 teaspoons orange liqueur

Preheat oven to 275F.
Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
Finely grind nuts in food processor.
Add honey, egg white, cocoa, spices and salt.
Blend to paste.
Add flour and mix by pulsing until just incorporated. Dough will be sticky.
Place dough on work surface heavily dusted with sifted powdered sugar.
Sift more powdered sugar over dough.
Gently roll dough out to 3/8 inch thick.
Cut into 1 x 1-1/2 inch bars using knife (dusted with powdered sugar).
Place on cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
Bake cookies 25-20 minutes or until firm and tops appear dry.
Cool cookies completely on wire racks.
Make Icing: Blend 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 2 teaspoons egg white.
Mix in enough liqueur to make thick but thin enough to pour.
Set racks over wax paper.
Drizzle icing over cookies.
Let stand until icing is dry.
